CWBA kicked off their fist home games of the 17/18 season yesterday with mixed results. The division 3 game verses Wolverhampton showed development for CWBA 3 after their pre-season preparation was truncated and they cruised to a comfortable win 63 to 26.
For the other 2 teams, this was their first competitive game this season. Both teams were promoted at the end of last season and were under no illusion that the London Titans would provide a formidable challenge in both leagues based on their previous experience and placings.
The Div 1 team struggled from the start and with baskets not falling for all the players at some point the final score of 35 v 61 showed the Titan dominance.
The Premier team are a new line up with Matt Travers and Ollie Griffith-Salter joining the line up for the first time and Joy Haizelden, Ryan Dickin and Sam Lewis being unavailable. Despite this, the predominantly junior team held their own for much of the 1st half. The 3rd quarter saw Titans pull away and the 4th saw CWBA pull back but they could not dent the Titan's lead coming our 46 to 58
